Taipei MRT Map,Transportations,Taipei MRT travel Guide

Taipei is a wonderful city to have your own adventures. There are some many ways t to start it; here are some tricks for you.
  • MRT map

  • The well build MRT is the best tool to start your surprises. MRT, the subway, the tube, the underground, is the most convenient mass transportation system. It is one of the most neat and tidy subways in the world, the carriages and stations are as clean as brand new one, and always as bright as day time. It operates from 7 am toward 1 am and has securities everywhere that you won’t have to worry about safety issue. Inside the train and the station, you can easily follow the English announcement to know where you are and what the next station is. The price is so low between NT25-NT60 which is about 75 cents to less than 2 dollars. Only one rule you have to follow and it also is the secret keeps the neat—No food and drinks are allow.
This system was build less than 10 years, and it’s still growing! It reaches so broad that can bring you from the most famous lake 碧潭to the beautiful ocean淡水, from the ancient temples龍山寺 to the world tallest building 台北101, form the famous 士林夜市 to the trendy bars in 安合路, it is the most used transportation system by locals, and also the best way for you to enjoy Taipei.

Besides MRT you can see tons of yellow cabs everywhere in the city. Different from New York or Paris, just raise your hands, they will stop for you right away. Many cab companies now require drivers to dress up when service, the car can be new and clean that gives customers a good image. Can’t guarantee you drivers speak in English, but there is some call-in-service companies can have really good service in town. How much is it? The price starts at NT70 (about $2.5) and every additional km will raise NT5, approximately US$5-8 dollars if you just ride within the city, 10 bucks you can go far enough to go out of Taipei.

There are also buses everywhere in the city. It’s the most inexpensive choice in Taipei. All buses are air conditioned, and price is as low as NT20 (about 60 cents). You can see the city very well if you catch the right one, but trust me; they are complex enough for you.

Of course, you must notice there are more than tons scooters on road. Fell like Rome? If you are bold enough, rent a scooter! Get a map, helmets then you are free to go!
